
The Aurora Historical Society was founded in 1951 by a group of forward looking individuals who recognized the importance of preserving our past for the enlightenment and enrichment of future generations.

The Roycroft influence and artistic character of East Aurora extends to two historic venues for entertainment. Aurora Players Aurora Players – Theater in East Aurora since 1934 is a first-rate, live theater venue located just two blocks south of the Roycroft Campus within Hamlin Park. Offering five productions throughout the year, the charming theater is housed in the historic Roycroft Pavilion (now enclosed) built for the town by Roycrofters and dedicated by Elbert Hubbard in 1903. On Main Street, The Aurora Theatre [www.theauroratheatre.com] was built in 1925 through the efforts of local businessmen including Irving Price who later founded Fisher-Price Toys and Elbert Hubbard II. It boasts two beautiful antique murals, gourmet popcorn and both first-run and classic movies.
The Graycliff Estate designed by Frank Lloyd Wright was built between 1926 and 1931. Sometimes called “The Jewel on the Lake”, it is located in Derby, New York on a bluff overlooking Lake Erie with sweeping views of Buffalo and the Canadian shore.
The Friends of Knox Farm State Park, Inc. is a group of volunteers whose mission is to promote, support, preserve and protect the recreational facilities, natural habitats, permanent green space and historic and cultural resources of the Knox Farm State Park.
The Roycrofters at Large Association has 3oo members 65 of which are juried Roycroft Rennaisance Artisans who are able to use the Nationally Registered Double R mark. For more information click the link to the left.
